About the
Quiet Queers Craft-along
Welcome to the Quiet Queers Craft-along, an annual Pride-themed make-along hosted by knitboop. (Click here to buy her Ko-Fi)
What is this craft-along about?: This craft-along was initially conceived of as a response to two concerns about Pride:
1) the corporate-washing of Pride and queer culture; and
2) the inaccessibility of some Pride events, which (in the US) mostly hinge around being outdoors, loud, and unfriendly to the needs of disabled and neurodiverse queers/allies.
This craft-along aims to address these concerns by giving queer crafters and allies a (virtual) place to come together, support other queer designers and indie dyers, and win some fabulous prizes while they’re at it!
Meet the Mods:
knitboop: Hostess, cisgender, anxiously-bi Asian transplant to the Midwest (she/her). I’m mostly active on Instagram at @knitboop and will be leaving the day-to-day handling of the Ravelry page to my moderators, though I will be popping in once in a while to make sure things are going well! Feel free to send me a DM on Instagram or message me on Ravelry with any questions or concerns.
knit1purr2/mountchic: I am a bi Marylander (she/her) living in a house filled with people (Husband, Son, Roommate), pets (our two cats and the roommate’s dog) and yarn (all mine!). Mainly a knitter, but have experimented with dyeing and spinning. My favorite number is 102 and a half. On Instagram as @knit1purr2, Ravelry as MountChic, but you can call me Veronica.
larcyarn: On Instagram as @larcyarn.
kathynancygirl: I’m a Portlander cis queer female (she/her). I’ve been knitting for over 20 years and am the occasional dog walker of Leonard. On Instagram as @kathynancygirl.
